Shiro – Swimsuit ver.

When the Nippon-Yasan sale hit, this figure was the first thing I grabbed, before leafing through the rest of the sale, and making final decisions on what figures I’d buy and which ones I could let slide. I did see this for sale in the last N-Y sale, but stupidly passed on it. So it was nice to have the chance again!

Due to her canonical age, here’s a picture of her face for the blogbot:

image

So for random passers-by and people who clicked to see the full post, here’s the full picture:

image

I love Shiro’s colours, and they have been rendered very competently here. Her hair is nice and vibrant, and has been given an outfit to match. The gradients are really nice. My minor gripe is the white spot on the front of her hair is a little on the large side, and I’d prefer it more blue than white.

Here’s a shot of the top of her head:

image

Her crown is a nice, shiny golden colour, with brightly coloured gems, and I feel strongly matches her intended design.

Shiro front-on:

image

I like the way they’ve shaded the ribbons dangling from her top. I like the blended tones in her stockings too. The underside of her jacket has been painted really well – the pattern looks nice, and well-rendered.

Left side:

image

Love her hair. The strands have been sculpted well, and I love the way they’re flicking in different directions.

Shiro’s right:

image

Here you can see her shoulder where she’s shrugging out of her jacket.

Back:

image

Here you can see the inner pattern of her jacket clearly – here it is red and blue, and blends into green and yellow at the bottom. You can glimpse the blending from the front of the figure – it’s impressive they went to this detail, when you can barely see it. She also has a bow on the back of her neck, where her top is tied, which is a nice detail. They’ve also modelled the cords on her jacket.

The base is super plain – not sure if I’m a fan of this. It does help the figure stand out more, which is helpful due to her diminutive stature. It also means it doesn’t really add anything to the figure either. I maybe tempted to add an overlay for it, possibly of the NGNL logo.

Overall, I really like this figure – the colours are very nice, the sculpting has been very nicely done. She’s quite an expensive figure though, so depending on how much you’re willing to spend will probably dictate if this figure ends up in your collection.

(For me, this figure I’m not sure she goes with her given age, which goes for a lot of Japanese characters. Some people find her to be in an ‘attractive’ pose, but tbh, I don’t feel she gives off that vibe).

Melissa Seraphy – Good Smile Company

Someone linked this figure in a Discord chat, and I decided I wanted it. Shortly after, I found it a bit cheaper on Mandarake (below the customs limit, yay!), so went for it:

image

Cute demonic things are my weakness! Also loved the pumpkin. Her pose is also very cute, and I love the design of her top.

Left:

image

Cute bow on the pumpkin :). Here you can see a couple of marks – probably the first thing I’ve bought from Mandarake where I could find marks. They’re not hugely noticeable though.

Here is a close-up of the bow:

image

The bow has been nicely sculpted and painted.

Here is a close-up of the pumpkin face:

image

The eyes and mouth are clear plastic, and you can just about see her legs through it. There is a nice gradient of orange on the pumpkin itself.

Right side:

image

Not much excitement here, so here’s some words on the base. The base itself is translucent grey plastic, with a peg that sits into the pumpkin. There is a pattern on the base, but honestly I don’t like the look of it overall. With her on the base, it doesn’t look so bad imo.

Back:

image

Her wings and hair are nice, and the pumpkin looks lovely and shiny from this side. Here you can see the stand piece that holds the pumpkin (and her) up.

You can also take the pumpkin off and display her without it:

image

This stand is a cheap one from China, but surprisingly holds her up well. When I looked up pictures of her, I wondered why someone had balanced her in the back half of the pumpkin – turns out that’s the only way of using the original stand to hold her.

Taking her out of the pumpkin was paint-transfer-city, however. She had several bits of orange paint around her midriff and ankles. Most of them came off with an eraser, but one on the ankle is a lot more obstinate, and maybe part scratch. She does look amazingly cute out of the pumpkin.

Close-up of her upper half:

image

If she was wearing some pants/knickers that matched her top, it’d be a no-brainer for me to display her without the pumpkin. As it is, I’m on the fence about it. Maybe one day I’ll get two of her…

From the back:

image

OK, didn’t get a good shot of her backside, thanks to the stand, but she looks nice from this angle. On her left leg, you can see a dot – the obstinate paint transfer.

Side view:

image

She has some details on her knickers, which make them look nice, if you’re into that kind of thing. Maybe if I get some matching PVC, I could fashion some shorts…

I think she looks nice with or without the pumpkin, though if you get her secondhand, be prepared to deal with pumpkin paint transfers. If you’d like to display her out of the pumpkin, you’ll likely want to get a replacement stand, to support her in place. I don’t like the look of the pumpkin open – it has four peg-holes for the front half of the pumpkin to peg into, which doesn’t make it look great.

Pleased with this figure, for the price I paid.

Alleyne – Queen’s Blade – Orchid Seed

This figure I was thinking of preordering, but saw one come up at a good price on MFC, so I went for it. Negotiated a bit more of a discount, due to peg damage (yeah, and it’s deffo not one I’m fixing with a bit of glue…).

Aand this arrived:

image

Not surprised the Hermes lady skedaddled that day, and didn’t check to see if I was in (though she doesn’t normally).

By the merciful Postal Gremlins she was fine though:

image

There is one paint scratch in her hair, but the seller’s shots don’t show that part of her hair, so not sure if that happened in transit or not. Due to the scratch’s location, it was probably prior to transit ><.

But… she’s definitely a stunning figure. And that peg ain’t gonna be fixed – it’s a hollow peg, which allows for a metal reinforcement rod to sit inside of it, so it’ll need re-architecting to act as a peg again. She stands reasonably well as-is though.

Alleyne’s left:

image

I love the leaf details on her arms. The colours work well together and they’re nicely detailed.

Alleyne’s right:

image

I like the way her hair flows over her arm. Her body sculpt is very much in evidence here – muscly and looking realistic.

Her back:

image

Her hair flows nicely down her back, and she has some detailed butt-leaves. Unfortunately with the leaf-panties they’ve only put in one peg, so they’re very difficult to get off – had to watch a video to see how it was done, as I don’t have her instructions. Also, due to the way they come off, it’s likely to be paint transfer city, so not in a hurry to do that. Already had to remove some transfers from her hair and chest leaves, and I know there are a couple on her backside. I have the feeling that she may have not been cast off before, hence the parts rubbing some, and transferring paint.

Alleyne with her top cast off:

image

Her nipples are painted nicely and realistically, which is a nice change from several of the cast-offs I own. Her arm decorations help her from looking super-plain when cast off.

Chest close-up:

Love the details in her sculpt :).

Alleyne’s right:

Alleyne’s left:

Not much to add on these angles. As I didn’t cast off her bottom half, I didn’t take another picture of her behind.

Overall, I think this a very nice figure, where dressed and cast-off work well. Just a shame that they didn’t put two fasteners in her underwear to make her a lot easier to cast-off & redress. She is quite tall, and a good, chunky size. If you like what you see, I would recommend this figure. If buying secondhand, definitely find out about peg condition  she does stand OK on the one peg, but is a little on the wobbly side.

Akira – Mon-sieur Bome

Whilst I was in the process of buying yesterday’s figure, I got a message from another MFC user, offering me more loots :D. I’ve bought a number of their figures previously, so they gave me first dibs on some figures they were giving away, in payment for the postage.

This was the first of two things I was interested in:

When I was unboxing her, I found out that she is also cast-off, which was a surprise. It did say on the MFC page, but I didn’t notice.

Here is her left side, which is her main viewing angle:

I like her purple dress, and the detail of the sculpting in her hair.

Looking at the front:

She has a cute face, and the maid outfit works well.

Her right side:

I like the bows she has spread around her outfit – here you can see one on her arm. She also has some hairclips in her hair, one of which is visible here.

Her back:

Her ribbon looks nice on her back, and her outfit looks a bit more revealing from this angle.

Underneath view:

Some flatness to be seen. She balanced surprisingly easily like this.

Now for her cast-off “mode”:

Whilst you can fully cast her off, her midriff looks a little strange to me, with the ridge under her corset.

Close-up of her chest:

Nicely sculpted, but her nipples aren’t particularly painted. Would’ve been nicer if her nipples were a bit darker, but hey, better than the bright pink some cast-offs get.

From the back:

She looks surprisingly good from the back, considering the front. This angle works, and I don’t have any major complaints.

Here is how I am likely to display her – half dressed:

The skirt matches up with her corset, removing the odd look. Her chest looks good, without it looking like she’s oddly dressed/covered.

Close-up of her front without her top:

The ring in her collar acts as a subtle hint she’s more of an entertainer than maid, but doesn’t really attract the eye if she’s not cast-off.

From the back:

All options seem to work just fine from the back!

I like this figure, glad I chose to get her. I was on the fence about her for ages, but she looks better in person than I imagined.

Alice – Queen’s Gate – Alpha x Omega

Saw someone selling their collection on MFC, and asked about buying this figure. One of the figure’s accessories was broken, so he charged the lower price for her.

Here she is with her clothes on:

image

And here’s a photo of her with the unbroken gun that attaches to her waist:

image

Honestly, I think the guns look a little weird, so I’m happy to display her without them. They attach to her top, so you can’t display them with her, if she’s cast off. In this shot, the breakage that occurred during shipping also shows >< – her left cuff. Due to it being shadowed by her pose normally, the glued bit doesn’t really show.

She has very nicely moulded hair, and I live her hair accessories. All are nicely painted and sculpted.

Here is the gun from the side:

image

The gun has a peg on the back, which is how it attaches to her clothes. Bit of an odd way to attach. I think it would’ve been nicer if they had pegs on the sides, so that it could dangle downwards/backwards.

So what’s she like without the gun?

image

The hole is visible, but not a biggie. Top looks nice.

Top from underneath:

image

There’s a lot of nice detail on the top, and is a viable display option, unlike some cast-off figures.

Side shot:

Here are some pics of her top whilst she’s not wearing it:

image
image
image
image

Bit hard to take pics of her wearing it due to her pose, but it’s a very nice top, and clips together well. Have had issues with other pegged cast-off clothing, but this one seems to work.

Some clothed shots that are probably NSFW:

image
image

Her clothing does nothing to cover her backside :P. Here she is from the back cast off:

image

Not much difference! A nicely-sculpted backside though. Her remaining clothes have some well-placed crease lines, and you can see where they press into her body.

Now for the definitely NSFW:

image

Her chest isn’t super-visible from the front, but you do see more of her legs.

Side shots:

image
image

She has a nicely-sculpted, lithe body. I like the way her tail is joined to her body – a lot of demonic-type figures have the tail just kind of stuck there, but with ALice, hers has some form of attachment to her back. The guns she holds are also super-detailed.

Chest close-up:

image

She seems to like to stay mostly SFW :P. Her expression looks good from this angle too.

With this figure, I also like the way her tail curls around her leg, and was one of the things that attracted me to it. I also love the way her hair flows. She works as a cast-off or as a non-cast-off, whichever you prefer. I find the paint quality really good on her, but not sure if I’d pay full aftermarket price for her. If you like Alice, I’d say this is a solid figure of her. Well, erm, on the point of solidity – might want to ensure her dangling parts are still attached prior to buying.

Ryuna – Shining Tears

So, with some space still left in my box… I went for the totally random. I looked at the pics of this figure on Mandarake, checked them out on MFC, and decided to go for it, despite zero familiarity with the source material.

Here she is out of the box:

She does come with a round, wooden-style base, but it was on the large side, and I wasn’t particularly fond of it, so I left it in the box. Which was not easy to do, when the box was falling apart, due to a lack of glue!

One downside of this figure became apparent immediately after taking it out of the box – it is prone to paint transfer. There was a white line on her skirt, and the burgundy paint had transferred to parts of her skin. So she had to spend some quality time with an eraser, but it all cleaned up well.

Here is her left side, partially showing her face:

One thing I saw someone comment on was her eyes – which you can sort of see here. They’re much more detailed than your average anime-styled figure, which gives her an interesting look. The cloth round her arm is sculpted nicely, and flows well.

Here’s a close-up of her face:

Her eyes are very much doll-like, and I quite like the look. I think with some more work on her skin, it’d be a neat effect, but I don’t think they quite got the finish right, so she’s ended up slightly too shiny. Maybe a bit more shading would be needed too.

Her other side:

From this angle, her hair doesn’t look very detailed, but it is in places. Her skirt flows well over her foot.

Her back:

I think she looks really nice from this angle, as well as the front. The “metal” disc dangling down is a separate part, but is not designed to be movable. It’s made out of plastic, so you can wiggle it a bit, but not reposition it. It lies nicely on her skirt, so there’s no real need to.

Here she is from the bottom:

Always amuses me, looking at sitting/lying figures from underneath. She gives a very flattened appearance XD. Though to her credit, they did actually mould some wrinkles on teh bottom of the parts that would be lying flat, so she’d look the part if she was on a transparent shelf.

Her skirt is removable, and it looked less silly than I thought it would:

If you like her like this, I think it’d be a viable display option. Not my choice though. But in doing this I can show the paint transfer problem, from a bit I didn’t clean up:

The skirt paint has a habit of getting on anything it touches, so if you get this figure, you may need to spend some time cleaning her up. This might be one of the reasons she’s really cheap to get hold of. The other is she’s not particularly epic as far as figures go, but I think she’s a fairly solid figure.

And also good at guarding Percy the Parcel Box’s brain:

This is the Raspberry Pi that controls the maglock on the parcel box, plus makes the calls from the door intercom.

Shamsiel Shahal

Found this figure some time ago, and had it in my “to order” list. I did plan to order her in November/December, but then I spent too much and left it. Finally went for her in January.

Here she is on her mirror base:

image

I rather like the mirror base – I’ll probably use it for her, but if she ends up somewhere where the mirror base doesn’t work for her, I’ll use it for some other figure.

Here is what she looks like from the top with the mirror base:

image

Giving you all the angles, if she’s cast off.

Here she is not sitting on the base:

image

The side joint in her outfit has a habit of being a bit loose. In regards to the paint job, the shading on her right knee is a bit odd.

Close-up of her face:

image

Certainly a smiley, happy demoness! I like the way she has a tiny li’l ponytail tucked away there.

Her left & right sides:

image
image

She looks nice from the sides, but she does have a floating hand. I may fix this at some point, but there is a chance it may fix itself. The joint for her clothing is visible in the second pic – at least it’s positioned where it doesn’t really show if you’re not casting her off.

Her back:

image

I really love these transparent wings. And her tail is cute. From the back, she looks the same, cast off or not. The red nicely complements the purple and green of her outfit.

Now to cast her off:

image

It took a little bit to work out how to disassemble her, and I think I made a bit of a split in her clothing :(. Fortunately it didn’t go all the way through, so I could strengthen it, if I clothe her again. She did have a couple of paint transfers on her legs, but I managed to pretty much get rid of them with an eraser.

For casting her off, you take the legs off first, then the top will come off the neck. As far as parts removal goes, it’s only the legs and the head.

Close-ups of her clothes:

image
image

It was the upper silver ring I damaged (assuming it wasn’t damaged before – this was a secondhand figure). Kind of amusing to see a green blob of paint – this does suggest the green paint transfer I saw was actually stray paint, rather than rubbed off. The ball and chain feel like metal, and is a nice detail.

Here she is, reassembled and cast off:

image

There are some dents in her legs, where the garters “latch” onto. If you view her from certain angles, you can see these dents, but when she’s displayed, they’re not really visible.

Here’s a close-up shot showing one of them:

image

Kinda wish they didn’t make dents for the garters, and just left enough room in the right spots. Probably an effort to prevent paint transfer, and keep the garters from popping out.

Close-up of her chest:

image

A pair of pretty assets to finish on (the blog that is!), with some very pink nipples, lol. Her stomach is well-defined, which I like.

Imo, both the clothed and cast off options are solid ones, so you could do either, and not feel cheated. I was a bit iffy about her when I first got her, but I’ve since warmed up to her, and think that she’s a good addition to my collection.

Ranka Lee – N.A. version

In my large Mandarake order, this was the only thing that wasn’t Devilman-related. Have had this in my Mandarake wishlist for a few months, for when I was ready to do an oversized order. Note this is a cast-off figure, though she does have her nipples covered, even when cast off.

Here she is, looking at her stand:

image

The top can be cast off, and the wings weren’t initially attached to the stand – the stand itself has two clear pegs to push them onto.

Here’s a close-up of the heart on the stand:

image

I guess the stand is OP :P.

And here she is on the stand:

image

She fits quite nicely on it, and I plan to display her on the stand. The first thing that hit me was her hair – it’s very green and to me, looks like a failed dye job. Looking back on the MFC pics, maybe some aren’t quite as distinct as mine, but one or two of the pics I looked at, there was probably some heavy post-processing. Other oddity for me is the hip crease – didn’t notice at first, but looking at it, I find it a bit strange, even if it would be accurate.

Here is her back, with her top on:

image

I expected her to be holding her top, but she’s not. There’s not much flexibility in the top, so this is how the figure is meant to be. Her pose from behind has “life” to it, but she works better from the front imo.

Now to cast her off:

image

Her head was quite tightly on, so I heated it some to ease it off. On mine, there’s a bit of a mark on one of the stars, and seems to be an error in manufacturing, as she was sealed. It probably is slightly more noticeable in the photo than irl.

Right, now to put her head back on!

image

Her pose works really well for her cast-off option. She has a very nicely sculpted body.

Here she is from the opposite side:

image

Lookin’ nice from this side.

Her back:

image

She has a much cleaner appearance without the top form the back, and her pose looks a lot more like stretching.

Chest shot:

image

That hair… Ah well, she’s got a nice belly goin’ on.

I think this figure is a good demonstration that small boobs can and do work, and there’s not the need for all characters to have water balloons for a chest. Would be nice to have some more variety in anime, but hey, don’t think I’ll be particularly winning on that front.

When I initially picked the box up for this figure, she was a lot smaller than I imagined, but opening her up and inspecting her, she’s a nice, quality figure worth the price. Haven’t fully decided if I’m going to display her with her top or not. Maybe I’ll switch her now and then.

Devilman Lady

Had my eye on this figure for some time, but she wouldn’t fit in a SAL small packet, so it was a long time before I ordered her. Despite this, she was a bit bigger than I was expecting.

Here she is out of the box, with her accessory:

image

Can see why this figure is cheap to get hold of, but I still love the colour.

Here is a ¾ view:

image

She’s not a bad figure, but she’s nothing amazing either. Definitely more on the “toy” side of things. Her hands have the annoying ability to pop out though, which is kind of annoying.

Back view:

image

Not a huge lot to see here, not as plain as some figures, but a definite lessening of detail.

She does come with a stand:

image

At first, I thought this was decorative scenery, hence it not featuring in the pics above. The arm doesn’t really slot into the hole on this dead creature. Might be able to get it in with some heat, but I don’t think it’s designed for you to put it in there. Shame, as you could play-act out the scene, if it did.

Shot of the face:

image

Yeah, that’s one not-happy creature. You can also see the peg in the bottom left. She was a bit of a squish to get on, but a stand is very much needed to get her to balance. Was thinking of digging up one of my disc stands, but this one is so much cooler, now I know it’s a stand.

Back of the stand:

image

Yeah, nothing to see here, move along.

This figure seems to be fairly widely available. She’ll cost you far more in postage than her initial cost, but if you like her, she’s not too expensive to pick up. This figure is definitely not for everyone, so I’d only recommend buying if you like what you see here. Arm articulation works OK, though the hands can come off easily (they’re just a straight piece of plastic linking them, no ball), but the leg articulation is kinda pointless. The top of leg articulation just ends up looking funny due to the shape of her leg and being a cut joint, and she won’t balance well in most positions. I think this figure may have had more of a market if they went into full toy mode, and made the hands stay on, lol. I like her as a display piece, but I’m unfussy and love purple. And demons.

Welvath- Highway Star ver

Another figure from Devilman :). This time it’s Welvath:

image

… if you have monstrous faces for boobs, do they count as boobs? In the show, she has the ability to split her arms a number of times and make mouths from them. She’s a vicious, yet fancy, lady. She comes with three heads, by default she has this one, with her eye popping out. Here’s a shot with her head turned to the side:

image

She can definitely see you! Up close:

image

There’s some nice paint detail in this figure, which also can be seen in this close-up. Her tattoos are crisp, and the boob-faces are detailed.

Here’s her accessories:

image

In the first photo, she’s wearing the boa, and these are the other two heads. I may put the one on the left on her at one point – it’s my second favourite of the heads.

Here is a close-up of her arm:

image

Bitey! I love the paint on these parts.

Here is her left side:

image

Quite a bit of definition in the side of her chest. In her current state, she has a habit of leaning forward – at the time of writing, I have her laying down as she leaned a bit more, and I will likely bend her legs a bit to try and balance her so she doesn’t lean so much. I may end up with a gripping stand around her middle to prevent leaning, if I can’t balance her after adjusting her.

Right side:

image

I like her arm band, and the feet are in better focus than most of the other photos… Her toes are well-sculpted, and the paint job is nice.

Now for her back:

image

Not as much paint detail back here, but not sure how much it really needs it. A well-defined backside though. Again, a nice job on the mould.

Picture of her base:

image

She only has one peg, like all of the other Fewture figures. Tbh, she’d be better off with two, due to her pose.

The box shows the default coloured version:

image

Personally I much prefer this alternate colour version, as purple is one of my favourite colours. I find this to be one of the more impressive figures of the set, and I’m tempted to buy some of the others… however, some of them (like this one) have large boxes, which means they’re too big for SAL small packet, so I have to go SAL postal parcel.

I’m super-happy with this figure, and once I’ve sorted out her leanings, she’ll grace my shelves somewhere.

Mico – Default ver & Limited Color ver

Note: this post will feature boobs scattered throughout. If you’re at work, you’ve now been warned.

After failing to buy the default (green) version from Mandarake, I decided to pick up the black version (limited color ver)  in my large SAHRA order. Some time later, the green version popped up on Yahoo! Auctions Japan, so I decided to go for it, via Buyee. After bidding slightly more than intended, I managed to win her, and worked out cheaper than buying her at Y! marketplace/Amazon.

As I ordered the limited color version first, I shall talk about her first:

image

Was hard to get the focus correct when photographing her, due to her monochrome nature.

Though for a monochrome figure, she reflects the light well to give her detail:

image

The back moulding gives you something to look at.

Here she is without Tollg:

image

She has some details in black, but most of the detail is from the light reflecting off her. On her right side, she does look to have some minor scuffing on her bottom rib, but it isn’t a biggie.

As this one is effectively the least detailed of the three, I will likely display her in her tube:

image

I won’t be demoing the light feature again in this blog – all three of the tubes are the same, barring the paint colour. This one the plastic seems to be in a less scratched state than the purple Mico’s.

Now onto normal-coloured Mico:

image

Happy to have her in her ‘original’ colours. Her Tollg has a different colour painted for its eyes. Kinda need to get to the part of the anime series that features her!

Here she is from the back:

image

Same as the backside of the purple version.

Without Tollg:

image

Even more neon than the purple version, especially her lips! Her vein colours match her Tollg.

Here’s a ¾ view showing more of her veins:

image

Happy to have her, and really liking having most of the set – at least the ones I was interested in.

With these two, the bases are inversions:

image
image

I found this mildly interesting :).

Here are all three of the Micos I now own:

image

There is a fourth silver one, but I’m unlikely to buy it, mostly due to availability, and owning the limited black ver kinda covers the monochrome angle.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can switch around their Tollgs for an interesting look:

image

I do rather like the purple Tollg on the black Mico.

Here are the three tubes:

image

The darker one belongs to the black Mico, middle one is the default one, and the blue one goes with Acid Purple Mico.

Here are the tops of the tubes, showing the matching details:

image

Not decided if I’m going to display them in proximity of each other or not – will probably come down to space constraints.

Bad Taste Bears – Rustle & Henry

Bought this pair from a seller on eBay.

First up, Rustle:

image

I remember seeing this one when I was younger, and wanting it for no real reason. At the time I was living at home, and would have never got away with it. Now I’m older, the bears don’t seem to be as controversial to me as I thought they were at the time. They’re also well made imo,

Here is a side shot:

image

Definitely looks like he’s having a good rustle from this angle!

And the back:

image

Not much to say about this angle – has all the detail you’d expect.

Next up, Henry:

image

Not quite a Henry hoover, but I’m thinking the lawyers would have something to say if it was. Certainly seems happy with his vacuum cleaner, even if it doesn’t share his name. Love the face given to the vacuum.

Shot of the back:

image

Again, not much to say here. Fur texture’s nicely done.

Couldn’t resist another couple of these cheeky bears, and they also have a strange nostalgic element to me. I got them pretty cheap, and I’m happy with my purchases.

Tandem Twin – MOMO

This figure I was thinking on and off about buying, but pulled the trigger as I was buying the other items from the seller. She’s an original character, so isn’t in any anime or the like. So here she is:

image

She’s cute-looking and quite tall. She’s listed on MFC at 29cm tall, and I’d agree with that. I like her cute halter top, and her pose feels natural. The body paint is not the best imo, but I think it may have partly suffered with time. The body texture appearance is on the plasticy, unreal side though. Most of the painting is well done though.

Here’s a side shot, showing more of her face:

image

Yeah, I’m lookin’ at you. From the front-angle she’s giving a smile, this angle looks like she’s aiming to be sassy, lol. I like the way they’ve put wrinkles in her clothes, to give them a more natural appearance. With her arm, you can “feel” the way she twisted into her pose.

A closeup of her face:

Yep, definitely smiling. Nice detailing on the eyes, and the way the top hangs.

Here is her back:

image

Her tail has plenty of shading on, and the creases are also present on the back. Her hair colouring has also been done strikingly from the back – this is definitely a figure that’s been designed to be looked at from both the front and the back – a feature I appreciate, even if I don’t use it all that often!

I like this figure, but feel the skin paint lets it down a bit. I don’t have another figure to compare it to, but feel like the shades may have separated over time, however, this isn’t the only issue with skin painting imo.

The cast-off part is quite a large portion of the figure, which is nice, as it means the seams fall along natural seam lines:

image

Some OK-looking nipples, and a top that goes underneath her boobs. At first, I thought this was the first top pushed down, but it’s a different top entirely on closer inspection. She also has a different neck decoration. The paint is less orangey on this piece, which is why I suspect the other part may have deteriorated to some extent, but it’s still sort-of shiny and not as skin-like as other figures I own.

The back of the cast-off part:

image

Fairly similar to the other one, but the neck is different, owing to the other neckpiece, and the back of the top is different too.

Here’s what the cast-off piece looks like when she’s assembled:

And a closeup of her front:

The nipples I find a bit too stark, but I think it’s still a decent option. It did take me awhile to decide which piece to display her with for the time being – have settled on the non-castoff, but I may switch her in future.

Devilman Mico Acid Purple ver.

So this is a character from Devilman. One day I’ll watch the shows and read the manga so I know all about these characters… what I do know is this one is symbiotic with a demon, which is the purple part, and it is called Tollg.

So here she is, straight out of the box:

image

Pretty decent for this kind of figure, lacking if you’re not into this older style of action figure. She does have a hat that I dismissed at first, but after putting it on, she does look pretty nifty with it:

image

There will be no back shots at this stage… as she has a bare butt.

She also comes with an “experimental chamber” you can put her in:

image

Which I think looks pretty cool :D. Then again, I’m a weirdo. I also love the blue colour. And, hey, the experiments aren’t bad too!

Here’s a closeup of the details on top:

And here’s the back:

Not much to see, barring the battery compartment. I do have the cover – it was elsewhere when I was taking photos. Two AA batteries just fit in there. Took a fair bit of effort to get them in properly, so that the flap will shut – the feature can work if the battery is slightly out, but the cover wouldn’t fit back on like that. Needed to use a doodad to push battery next to the spring as far back as it would go to squeeze the batteries in there. Not sure how getting them out will go…

Now why are there no pics of the light feature? One, it’s not too impressive to look at – it’s two LEDs, one at the top, one at the bottom. Though the main reason I didn’t try to photograph it, is the LEDs are only on when you hold down the button at the front. Part of me is tempted to mod it so there’s a sliding switch at the back, but I’d have to take it apart to see the feasibility. Also there’s the temptation to wait – if I have a place near a power source, I could potentially wire it into a lighting system.

The remainder of my photos are NSFW, so here’s my conclusions. The articulation on this figure is largely pointless – it’s not very interesting, and the paintwork means moving her arms makes her look funny, though this is hidden by the symbiotic Tollg, when she’s wearing it. The hat looked kinda crap in the box, but looks better on, which was nice. The chamber is a solid addition, though mine had some mild scuffing, despite the outer box being sealed. Naked, she has the orangiest nipples, but she’s erm, accurate in other places. All in all, I like this figure, and I think I paid a fair price for her.

Here’s a pic of her without Tollg:

image

See what I mean by the super-orange nipples? Her body is anorexic, which I’m in two minds about. Also note they modelled her labia, which some castoffs don’t have, lol.

Here’s a closeup of her upper half:

image

That’s some orange boobage, with some paint smear that got in between her boobs. Guess she’s had some fun with spicy sauce? It’s a complimentary colour to the purple, but I dunno. It’s just a bit too unreal.

And here’s her back:

image

Some effort on the sculpting here, but seems like a “ok, that looks passable, done now” job. More accurate than a barbie, but lacking in polish, most notably her shoulderblades, the back of her knees, and those elbows seem to have boils on them. I won’t be seeing her back a lot though.

Secondary conclusion: She can be displayed naked, but I feel she was mostly designed with Tollg in mind. I have ordered the green version, so I may display one with, one without, or both with Tollg.
