Blister

Front:

Eee, tugs shirt. The blister did do its job, but we have the very creased corner in the bottom right. The left side fared better but has a couple of bends still. Does suggest there was some production/packing issues resulting in the crinkled blister.

We can see the figure is well-covered – no chance of being flashbanged out of the box.

Back:

From this angle we can see the wings, tail and chains are in a secondary blister – I did hope they’d pack it with wings and tail separate and tessellated, and pleased to report they did. Which makes shipping costs more friendly on the wallet. She’s still a fairly big box, but not as bad as it could’ve been.

Overall the blister design is good for the most part, but not rigid enough to keep its form in shipping.

Assembly Notes

As I was photographing this figure, I didn’t really pick an optimal way of assembling it. I think the best order would be:

• Attach wing chains (the two longer ones) to wings
• Attach ankle chain to both ankles
• Push wings into body (or leave them off if you want more leverage when attaching to stand).
• Attach wing chains to wrists
• Add tail to body
• Place figure on stand

For me, I ended up putting the figure onto the stand first which means you have less space to get into certain areas. Not sure how easy she’s to put on the stand once wings are attached, so might be best to leave those off until she’s on it.

One thing to note when putting the chains on is that the ring that they attach to is soft plastic – this freely bends to get the chain in. The hard ring and soft rings can both be rotated to get the soft ring into a good place to attach, though the process is still somewhat fiddly.

Surprisingly (for Insight) the tail and wings fit well into their holes. Didn’t need to use a hairdryer to get them in and they fit tightly. However… the base. Eesh. It’s like they weren’t produced together – the holes didn’t quite line up as is common with Insight and I couldn’t get one side fully down into the base. They don’t seem to do a test shot to get these bits fully correct :/

Base

Here it is in its full glory. I think they should have used a dark grey or did a wash on it – in black it doesn’t look great. The stony/scaly floor is a nice touch, but the plain black doesn’t do it justice. For the peg holes, weirdly we have one that’s a full peg hole and one that has an open front. Guess this was to help assemble it when the pegs are slightly off?

The figure!

OK, let’s jam her onto the base!

Couldn’t resist shoving her on the base in her wrapped form. If you skipped the section above, she was a pain to get onto the base – the pegs and holes didn’t quite align right unfortunately.

OK, let’s get her out of her plastic straitjacket:

Honestly, you could display her like this if you didn’t want to go full dragon. Yes, she has holes in the back but if you can’t see behind she just has the scaly legs and horns. As the end rings are soft plastic you could nick one off the wings if you wanted to make a longer chain to attach her wrists together.

I like me a full-on dragon, so let’s assemble her:

Whilst the chains were somewhat of a pain to put on, both rings being rotatable did help significantly. It would have been nice to include an instruction sheet in the box to explain this – at first I was worried the metal was just to slot in through the tiny gap until I got a good feel of one of the rings and realised it was a soft plastic.

Let’s start with her face:

She has a very cute, shy look. She wants you to take her home, but not bother you about it. But do you have the 6900G to do so?

No complaints about the face from me – the eyes are nicely detailed, the paint on the face and her mouth are nicely done. The horns are nice too, with their orangey brown tips and texture in the sculpt. The hair, however. Boiled sweet look. Why did they have to put such a shiny finish on it? The colour is fine, the finish not so much.

Moving down to her price board – I do like the shading on it and the writing. When I preordered it, I was thinking of potentially snipping it off but it complements the figure well enough that I’m going to leave it attached.

Back of the head:

So. Very. Boiled. Sweet. Really don’t know what they were thinking with this texture. It doesn’t fit with “dragon” or “human” at all. As a snake-owner, I can tell you scales are generally a matte finish.

Boobs:

Hello, welcome to the review. Feel free to go back and check her face.

Her chest is busty but not too much for her frame. The purplish areolae complement her darker skin tone well.

Some sideboob:

A perky pair – got some good breeding on this one. However, the shading is a little odd around her arm – they sculpted the detail but then overshaded it (I know! From Insight!) making it look a little odd.

Stomach and abs:

She’s a very muscly dragon girl – definitely didn’t skip chest day. It’s a little overdone for my tastes and she has a bit of an odd belly button.

Tatt:

The womb tattoo shapes have been nicely designed. The two-tone does add to it, but I’d prefer a proper gradient. Though given Insight’s track record, this is probably for the best.

Wing:

The chain on the wings is a nice touch – though not sure it fully stops her from flying away. Depends how much they need to stretch and how much she can flex her arms to allow it. Whichever way, it wouldn’t be comfortable to do that for long, so she likely wouldn’t get far.

The sculpt on the wings is nice – but it’s the texture of the wings is where they really fall down. Let’s look at the backs to show this more:

It’s too shiny to be leathery in my opinion – gives the feel of a toy figure with wings. Like it was made by Hasbro or similar. The shading is also lacking around the muscle/ligament that goes into the wing – feel like that could do with some extra tones to give a better feel of skin over ligament. I think a bit more paint detail here and there on the wing and a reduction in shine would help it feel more realistic than toylike. With the paintwork on the rest of the figure, I feel like they could’ve achieved this.

Looking to the top of the wing, we have a keratin/bone spur – that has a nice bit of shading to the base of it, plus a bit of shine to make it look like a claw.

Wing chain:

I like the way the chain hangs, even if it isn’t too realistic about keeping her where she should be. The ring directly connected to the manacle does seem to stay wherever you pose it at, which is a nice feature, though probably not entirely intentional.

Closeup of the manacles:

Again, no shading here. Would be good to have a little weathering as I doubt slavers keep their chains that clean. She does have nail polish, but it’s only really visible on her thumbs. It is there on her fingers, but they’re curled up where you can’t really see them. The shading is nice on her hands and arms though.

Moving to the upper side of the tail:

Here we can see they can achieve a wash, with the lighter colour on each of the tail plates. It’s also not as shiny, which I think helps with its appearance. Maybe could do with being a little bit more matte, but this works fine.

Underside of the tail:

There is some nice pinkinsh tones on the underside of her tail. Definitely some scutes that will protect the base of her tail. Relatively minor nitpick – I’d prefer if the pink had a bit more of a transition to the creamy colour.

End of the tail:

I expect you wouldn’t want to get whacked with this bony protrusion – looks like it would be good for defending herself. Also they could have used this shape for the corner filigrees on the box as an homage to the figure. I do like they added this detail to her tail – adds to her dangerous aura.

The tail tip is supposed to touch the base, but doesn’t quite on mine.

Legs:

I like the textures of the scales on her leg, and the way they transform from armoured scales on the front to small scales on the back. The blend from skin to scales has been done OK – I like the way the scales thin out and the blend of colour on her skin, but I can see the skin colour on her scales being contentious. I don’t find it that distracting personally.

Foot:

Definitely some dragon feet here. I like the paint and the sculpting, but again we’ve gone a little overly shiny losing the scale effect a bit.

And for the controversial bit, her vulva:

I did try to get a lower view, but it turned out blurry. But it’s still… there’s not too much to see. If you bought this figure for the private parts, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. Honestly it’s not a figure that has a great viewing angle for that. I wasn’t buying it to ogle at the private parts so lack of detail isn’t an issue for me – I think she’s fine as she is. Just so long as it isn’t “Barbie”, which she isn’t.
