Prior to buying this, I have been thinking of buying it on and off… and finally got around to it XD.
So without further ado, “Tentative name” Rei:

And her back:

Pleased with the figure, and glad I bought it 🙂

Was browsing the MFC ads… and came across this fellow. He ordinarily comes with a Figma, but the pair is really quite expensive, and I don’t like the figma enough to justify the cost.
This li’l fellow flew all the way from Spain, in seemingly record time. He was posted on the 10th, according to the tracking and appeared a mere 2 days later. Wasn’t home at the time, and saw the postie put the parcel in the box on the CCTV – it looked like the right thing, but wasn’t fully convinced as it was so soon since it got scanned in Spain. Came so quickly it didn’t even stop to get scanned on this side of the pond :P.
Here’s a side shot of the fat bugger:
And one of his back:
And now the obligatory Japanese-figure-upskirt shot!
The most SFW upskirt you’ll see all week :P.
And now for a “so random I couldn’t not order it”. Interesting designs on these guys, so might check out the manga & anime associated with these dudes.
I’ve ordered a few of Kaiyodo’s small figures before, and never been disappointed, and this one didn’t break the trend. And now here for the randomness:
TADA! The guy on the left is bendy, and can be posed. The right hand one is statically posed, and apparently called Migi. Left hand dude was very sticky with plasticiser (not really a surprise, as he’s been in a sealed packet since 2003!), so he had to have a thorough bath. Love the way the veins have been painted inside/on an inner layer, as it gives them a much more “fleshy” appearance.
Awesome little pair, if you like things like this 😛
And another Puzzle & Dragons figure! Lilith.
Love her design, and the pose of this figure. Had to heat her hands up to get the scythe in them, but went in very smoothly after that. Texture on the scythe is a bit different, which is a nice touch.
Pic of her with the scythe in focus:
A nice little figure, which was cheap too 🙂
With me winning only one item in the Urban Mines, I had a box to fill, so the next 3 posts will be for the figures that came with the JoJo prize figure.
First in line, we have Vampire Lord from Puzzle & Dragons.
Bit of a pain to photograph with the sword. Main gripe with this one is the sword, in two respects: one, it gets in front of his face a bit and two, it’s a bit too much like a piece of plastic. Would be nice to have a little more detailing or something to give it a less “plastic” vibe. Other than that, he was good for the money imo.
Talking about figures and gripes, one thing that I don’t have an issue with is his back:
This is how to do a plain back for a figure – looking at you Purgatori!
Another one from the Urban Mines… a JoJo “diorama” figure.
This one looked nicer in person than I thought it might, and is detailed for a prize figure. Happy I bid on this, even though it was a pain to put together. Was also surprised that it was completely unopened & sealed – Urban Mine items rarely are, and the box seemed to be in good enough nick to be sold as a store item, so not sure why it went to auction.
Here’s a view from the top, showing more of the figures:
A worthy “A” prize, imo.
Bought this at the same time as Angela Balzac and thus got customs’d. Ah well 😛 Imo she was still worth it!
Here’s her face:
And her butt!
The velvety base is definitely a nice touch. She’s a bit smaller than I expected, but she’s well-detailed. Base has a few marks, but she was secondhand. If posed “right” on the base, the marks don’t show though.
Here’s a figure I’ve been looking at for some time, without really knowing anything about the source material:
I like the base, and she looks good as a piece, but getting close-up there’s a couple of flaws – mostly the hair. OK for the money I paid, don’t think I’d want to pay full price for her (which would’ve roughly doubled her price).
The alternate arm was a nice touch – both poses look good, but I can’t resist getting out the maximal amount of accessories :P. And one other nice advantage of the base: there’s a place for her weapon to rest. Some other figures I have could learn from this!
Bought this figure from a seller on Facebook, so this one didn’t have so far to travel to get to me. Sinon just after escaping her box:
And some posing a couple of days later:
She also comes with her rifle, which I added the strap and placed on her during the writing of this blog:
She’s now joined the shelf with Kirito and Asuna (ALO vers).
Picture of her on the shelf:
Pic of Sinon with her buddies (yeah, shelf needs a dust…):
Just a small post… this was an Urban Mine auction item, 100JPY bid. On receiving it, I’m glad I didn’t pay a lot for it.
A bit more detailed than I was expecting, but she doesn’t stand on her base very well, and she’s quite small. In the end, I chose to forgo the base and use some white tack to sit her in. She’s on top of a detolf, so the white tack isn’t visible, and it looks like she’s kneeling on the detolf top.
When I ordered this figure, I had the choice of a few different ones, with different prices. I decided to choose the one labelled as “box severely damaged”, as it was cheapest and I don’t really care about box condition.
So prepare for some box carnage…
Or, uh, maybe not. The plastic blister itself was in pristine condition. The box for poor ol’ Stitches in the last post was in a worse condition.
Now onto the main event! Rin herself!
Not a bad figure, but not spectacular either, however she didn’t cost much! She doesn’t go on her pegs currently, but I may fix that with some hot water at a later date.. but tbh she stands up fine with just the one set of pegs.
All-in-all, happy with this one.
On Saturday, I went and visited Global Collectables. Ended up buying three things – one figure I was planning to buy if they happened to have it, a complete wildcard and something I’ve half had my eye on.
First up, the figure I was planning on buying at some point – Spacesuit Harley.
A fun li’l figure. She also came with a piece of pizza… that smelled like pizza! Was wondering what the “food smell” was, and it’s this thing. Not sure what possessed the designer to give it a smell, but… there you go. Kinda wish it didn’t have a scent:
Next up, the figure I didn’t expect. Al Azif by BEAT. There are two versions of this figure – the “original” figure that has held its value and a “crystal” version that hasn’t. This is the original version:
Looking up the two, working out if I’d accidentally wasted some money, I found the difference – the “crystal” version is shiny, and has transparent hair… and looks awful in the photos I saw of it. Glad I didn’t end up with the crystal ver.
And the third thing – chestburster chopsticks. I have the facehugger ones, but the facehuggers do occasionally fight each other when you’re using them. Thinking these might be easier-to-use novelty chopsticks… and it’ll give me another pair to use if I have two chopstick meals within a couple of days of each other:
Closeup of the end:
And that was my haul for the Saturday :).
This one came up for sale unexpectedly for a reasonable price on a site I frequent, and just had to get it. Budget be damned! (And it certainly was this month ¬¬).
Cute, and I love her colours. Been wanting an Etna figure ever since I saw they were a thing (never played the games, only really know the name), and I missed out on one on the same site a couple of months back or so, and couldn’t not get this one. Seller said it was the fastest sale ever, lol
Got the first batch of stuff from the Urban Mine auctions I won recently, plus one item from the store.
First up is EVA-06. He’s supposed to have a halo above his head, but the support part wasn’t included (yep, Urban Mine). Debating if I’m going to bother finding something to replace it,as I’m not that fussed over having the halo
He’s also got some minor scratches on his leg.
Closeup of his face:
Not an amazing figure, but my weighted calculations estimate I paid about £4 for him, inc shipping.
Next up, Mr Assemble. Wanted him to mix with some of my Devil’s Blood pieces, ended up needing one of the joints to replace one I pilfed from Devil’s Blood to repair a figma that lept out of the detolf :/. He didn’t have a stand with him, and some of the joints weren’t included, but mostly ones I wouldn’t have been bothered with. Here he is before I started pulling bits off him:
And after I mucked about with him:
Closeup showing his “cybernetic” arm:
Next was a wildcard item. 100JPY starting bid – they’re some phone charms with a strap. Thought they’d probably be charms and they looked kinda cute. Reading up on them, they’re supposed to come with a comic, but I can’t read Japanese so… yeah, not missing out on that:
And here they are, in various shelves in the study:
Sunny one to go with the skeleton:
And Joker nabbed himself one:
Last, but not least, an item from the Mandarake store. This one was sealed. Been liking the looks of the Puzzle & Dragons figures, so go this little one, as it wouldn’t take up much space:
They arrived today! Here’s BRS in her packet still, with the DVD. Meant to take one of Strength, but forgot XD.
Here’s both outta their packets and on their stands:
And here’s both in the cabinet, with Gold Saw next to them, and gothic Rei out in front:
Got a Mari figure in the post today…
… only the metallic red dye wasn’t fast, and had “melted” over various parts of the figure 🙁 Cleaned it up best I could, but it’s left a pretty bad stain on her shoulder.
Rather a shame, but she wasn’t that expensive, so she’ll get a slightly occluded spot in t’ cabinet.
She arrived today, outta the blue. Almost forgot I ordered her. I don’t know anything about Puzzle & Dragons, but have seen a few of the figures about the place, and liked the designs. And they were also cheap.
Am happy with the figure, will possibly buy some others from this set in the future. Though this one needs to be displayed higher up to appreciate it, so Connor had to take a step back 😛 Here’s a pic of the front:
Also found this dude fallen over in the morning, possibly due to the heat:
Uh, wait a minute… what is he looking at?
Hm, not the kind of “heat” I was thinking of >< Cheeky bugger!
He darned-well got a standin’ up.
